Development

Twenty years of development has given us not only diverse technical expertise, but technical flexibility — the ability to choose the right tools, always picking a balance between new options and old tried-and-true solutions. We keep it simple wherever possible, to ensure you inherit a coherent deliverable.

Our development projects include websites (Django, Wordpress, Drupal, custom, etc), HTML5 interactives (for web, kiosk, tablets), iOS applications, and other similar platforms.

Project Management

All Made Clear projects are collaborations, and are successful because of the working relationships we establish. Every choice we make is designed to support the achievement of your goals in the project.

Clear and stable communications are the cornerstone of our management style — especially regarding expectations, scope, and schedule. Please ask us for references.

Other Services

As appropriate, we also provide consulting services (technical design, game design, information architecture, etc), graphical design work (full branding, illustration work, animation, etc) and sound services (sound effects, music composition).

About Us

Michael Hoffman

Michael Hoffman

After three years as producer, programmer and sound designer for Learn Technologies, an educational software developer, Michael served for seven years as Director of Technologies at Sudden Industries in New York City. Sudden provides a wide-range of digital services, from branding and strategy to web development and animation, and Michael oversaw technical details and planning for all projects during his tenure.

Expanding his focus in 2005 to non-profit and educational work, Michael worked on staff for five years as a producer at the American Museum of Natural History, managing projects for web, kiosk and planetarium, including the 2009 release of Journey To The Stars, featuring voice work from Whoopi Goldberg.

Since leaving NYC in February of 2010, Michael has been a freelance producer and composer with AMNH, NOAA, Adobe, Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, and other clients.

Michael is the lead Producer and Project Manager for Made Clear, as well as Composer and Sound Designer. He lives with his wife in Austin, TX.

Graeme Hoffman

Graeme Hoffman

With over 15 years experience building websites, kiosk presentations, and mobile device applications, Graeme has a broad range of technical expertise. From cutting edge interactive HTML5 and Javascript to open source server solutions, from native mobile device languages (Objective-C) to cross compatible languages like LUA or AS3, Graeme takes pride in building rich interactive experiences.

For six years, Graeme served as senior web application developer for Sudden Industries in New York City where he created websites and mobile apps for numerous gaming and “edutainment” companies. Over the years, his agnostic approach to providing solutions has served large media clients (MTV, IFC Films, VH1, Pearson Education, etc), associations (NCTA, American Legion, Leon Levy) and small agencies alike.

At Made Clear, Graeme is the Director of Production, overseeing and directing all decisions in front-end and back-end development.
